Dayton Christian Church Values

Our Mission

Our mission at DCC is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Our Vision

Dayton Christian Church seeks to be a force of transformation in Yamhill County and beyond by empowering people on their path to full devotion to Jesus to Love God, Love Others, and Make an Impact. We believe that happens best when we help fully devoted followers of Christ walk through the Signposts of Full Devotion:

Accept Christ – Go public with your faith through baptism.

Worship Together – Attend the gathering of the Church.

Membership – Support the work by serving & giving.

Connect & Grow – Gather in a small group.

Reach Out – Participate in Missions.

Disciple – Coach someone else in their journey.

Our Core Values

Pursuit – We want to see people pursue God with reckless abandon.

Generosity – We give up things we love for things we love even more.

Teachability – We always have room to grow.

Humility – We recognize that Jesus is King and we are not.

Relevance – We will leverage whatever position God puts us in for His Kingdom.

Fun – We will laugh hard, loud, and often.

What We Believe

The Bible as the only sufficient guide for the Church and for the Christian in their life.

That God is one, yet eternally exists in three persons and is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe.

Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, Son of the Living God and Savior of the world.

The Holy Spirit works for our conversion, guarantees our salvation and renews us by giving us strength for living and power in prayer.

Men and women were created in God’s image to care for creation and further God’s kingdom on the earth. However, humanity was tempted by Satan to define right and wrong in our own eyes rather than God’s. In doing this we set up our own rival kingdoms against his. This disconnected us from God in a way that we cannot repair on our own.

Salvation is God restoring what we have broken through the death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. It is only by the grace of God that this is done, not by any works of righteousness on our part.

One is a Christian when they commit themselves to the Lordship of Christ and have been united with Him in Baptism.

Baptism is by immersion and it is a pledge of loyalty to the one true triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

People are saved through Christ, not by being a member of this Church. Membership is about service in God’s kingdom, not salvation.

The Lord’s Supper (Communion) is observed weekly to remember and celebrate the sacrifice Jesus made for us.
